USER EXPERIENCE

The Pirogov Table and Digital Atlas have been used by the Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy Department of the Sechenov University for students in all specialties for about two years. The complex has proved its effectiveness and practicality, which are needed and highly important in the shortage of anatomic materials. The table is especially useful for teaching foreign students as it is easier and more effective to explain the case by pointing out things on a virtual anatomic model than to simply explain.
Sergey Sergeyevich DydykinHead of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy Department, Professor, Doctor of Medicine

Today we have determined the following capabilities of our educational equipment to solve tasks at our department:
• Check of initial knowledge of normal and topographic anatomy by hospital physicians, in the scope required for further functional training.
• Replenishment of missing knowledge of normal and topographic anatomy that has been found during previous testing, both by team/pair and individual work of hospital physicians.
• Regular use as practical and demonstration equipment in scheduled studies of specific forensic medicine topics.

Clinical anatomy as other clinical disciplines requires the synergic perception of specific human body parts, including different organs that interact all together, but not separately in the live organism when they appear, develop, and function. Such perception of the material to be studied is provided by the Pirogov 3D Anatomy Atlas.
Aleksandr Vladimirovich KolsanovPresident of the Samara State Medical University, Head of Operative Surgery and Clinical Anatomy Department, with the course of innovative technologies, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medicine, Professor

The Pirogov Interactive Table enables the detailed use of anatomic landmarks for an abundance of anatomic structures, both in male and female body models. We wish teachers who have not started using this anatomy table to discover all its capabilities and to use it not only in the Normal Anatomy discipline but also in the Topographic and Pathologic Anatomy discipline, operative surgery, and forensic examinations.
Mariia Viktorovna RezakovaTeacher of Fundamental Medicine Department

The use of the Pirogov Interactive Touchtable allows you to explain clearly to students the syntopy of internals in 3D mode, compare with CT and MRI slices, and demonstrate clearly the strengths and weaknesses of many surgical approaches. In addition, while solving independently clinical and anatomic tasks by creating scenes, students will be able to understand faster, explain, and imagine the development of many pathological symptoms and syndromes.
Aleksandr Valentinovich AsmolovskyProfessor of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy Department, Doctor of Medicine

The program enrichment with interesting solutions that open up new opportunities, such as comparison of anatomic structures along with the review of ultrasound investigation, CT, and MRI data allows forming the clinical thinking and show the practical use of acquired knowledge of topographic anatomy together with practical skills in various clinical disciplines.
Vitalii Viktorovich GnoyevykhDirector of Simulation Center for Medical Modelling, Head of the topographic anatomy and operative surgery course, Ph.D. in Medicine, Associate Professor, Honorary Employee of High School

The Pirogov Table allows seeing the human body from a completely different perspective — from the inside. In addition to the macroscopic structure, we can also show the microscopic structure of organs.

NEW CAPABILITIES OF THE COMPLEX
Use the latest technologies to improve students’ engagement.

DIGITAL
ANATOMIZATION
Perform a virtual dissection of the male and female human model.

NORMAL AND TOPOGRAPHIC ANATOMY
Create demonstration options and show necessary layers, systems, and human body parts.

ANATOMY SCENE
DATABASE
Use the ready-to-use sets of scenes by systems and sense organs.

PATHOLOGIES COMPARED TO NORMAL CONDITIONS
Use images of histologic specimens in the process of education. Students will receive detailed descriptions of pathologies in the interface of the complex.

DIAGNOSTICS
Tell about the main methods of online functional diagnostics (CT, ultrasound investigation, and MRI). Students may compare different investigations.

FAST KNOWLEDGE CHECKS
You may ask students to create scenes on the topics covered.
